Cheeky NSW Blues fan draping flag around the Bay

ONE excited New South Welshman has painted the town blue in light of last night's Origin win.

Local man Glen Chapman of Rhino's Trike Tours has lived in Hervey Bay for 10 years and said it had been a long wait for the Blues to finally come away with a State of Origin win over Queensland.

"I've been waiting eight years for this," he said.

"I've always been sitting amongst Queensland supporters and copped it for years so I thought we'd go spread it around."

Mr Chapman has been draping his treasured Blues flag across some of the town's iconic spots to celebrate.

"I was sweating over it last night, it was a close game," he said.

"Especially in the lead-up to the game, I was getting ripped so to come away with a win was a big relief."
