Cars could be crushed on second hooning offence
IT COULD be two strikes and you're out for hoons under new laws being introduced to Parliament on Tuesday.
The new laws will mean drivers caught hooning could have their cars impounded after a first offence.
If a second offence is chalked up to the driver within five years, the vehicle might be crushed or forfeited.
Police Minister Jack Dempsey said offenders had traditionally been given a "slap on the wrist" for behaviour he said put Queenslanders in danger.
The Queensland Police Service would keep its Hoon Hotline open so the public can report hooning troublespots.
The hoon hotline is 134 666
