Carnival time again!
SANTA and his trusty elf will be rolling into the Vale on Saturday night for the annual Glamorgan Vale Community Christmas Carnival.
The event is always a fun night out for the whole family with rides for kids, ice cream and sweets stalls, hot food stalls and a licensed bar.
Popular entertainer Kev Smith will keep the crowd entertained with his great range of songs for all ages.
The ever popular ham wheel will be spinning throughout the night giving everyone a chance to take home a ham for only $1.
In addition, there is a monster multi-draw raffle to be drawn on the night.
"The Christmas Carnival is our major fundraising event for the year," president of the Hall Committee Doc Hannah said.
"We'd love to see a big turnout for the carnival.
"It's been a tough year for many people after the devastating floods early in the year.
"The carnival gives the community a chance to come together and celebrate the festive season."
Funds raised this year will go towards the replacement of the corrugated iron roof which has reached its use by date.
"This is one of the biggest projects we have undertaken," Doc said.
"The total cost will be close to $20,000 so any funds raised will go towards this project.
"Mind you this is the original roof, so it's done well to last 83 years."
The hall itself suffered significant damage during the floods with about four inches of water coming into and over the dance floor.
"However, everything is back to normal and we're ready to celebrate on Saturday night," Doc said.
The carnival commences at 5pm at the Glamorgan Vale Community Hall with entry free. Santa and his elf will be arriving at 7pm.
