Security footage seized after car smashes into workshop

UPDATE: Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle which crashed into an auto repair shop in Rockville early this morning.

Initial investigations suggest the stolen Holden Rodeo utility lost control and slammed into a shed on Thackeray St in Rockville about 1.45am.

Police will probe whether the smash was an attempted ram-raid incident as part of investigations.

The driver fled the scene on foot before Queensland Fire and Emergency Services arrived on scene.

Police reported the damage was confined to the sheet metal exterior of the shed, with no structural damage reported.

Security footage at the business will be seized by police as part of their investigations.

EARLIER: A car collided with a building in Toowoomba early this morning.

spokeswoman for the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said a car smashed into a building on Thackeray St in Rockville about 2am.

When emergency services attended the driver was not at the scene, the spokeswoman said.

QFES crews left the scene about 2.32am.
