Calendar project captures recovery

ACCORDING to Tanya Love, the photographer behind The Constellations Project, life is still far from normal in the Lockyer Valley.

Tanya has been allowed unrestricted access to the homes and lives of the people of Grantham during the 12 weeks since the wall of water hit the town on January 10, as she has worked to photograph and design a financial year calendar that is aimed at raising much-needed funds for the community.

“I am amazed at how welcoming Grantham has been to me as I have gone about photographing their recovery efforts for the calendar,” Mrs Love said.

“Their courage is something that I have been absolutely humbled to witness, and is something that motivates me more and more during each visit to ensure that the Constellations Project is a product not just of my own making but one that shows the heart of their community as well.”

The 14 month calendar features photography of the community and the people itself as they rebuild their lives, showing imagery of hope, courage and unity.
