Business icon closes its doors

IT was the end of an era when Baileys Gatton closed its doors forever.

Since opening its doors in the 1930s Baileys employed a number of people.

To remember this Beryl Reisenleiter and Jean Duncan decided to hold a staff reunion.

It was quite a task trying to contact people but after many phone calls 26 staff members arrived at the Gatton Leagues Club for an afternoon of stories, memories and laughter.

The cake was cut by Dawn Murray, one of the earliest employees and Eileen Granzien (last staff member).

A lot of old friendships were renewed and a lot of promises to keep in touch ended a memorable afternoon.
