Burglar kicks down Sarina residence door

A BURGLAR in Sarina has kicked down the back door of a Breen St residence before making off with cash and electronics.

Senior Constable Steve Smith said the kitchen and main bedroom were searched and a tin containing hundreds of dollars was stolen, as well as a Samsung Galaxy tablet between 5.20am and 3.30pm on Friday, August 3.

"It appears that the burglar exited the home by climbing out of an elevated window,” he said.

"It is possible that residents in the area may have witnessed some suspicious behaviour.

"Burglars typically are less inclined to actually break into a residence as the risks are much higher that they will be heard, seen or caught.

"We encourage residents to continue to secure their home and business premises when unattended and report any suspicious behaviour that you may witness regardless of the time of day.”
