Builders back Libs

THE home building industry has urged construction employers to back the Coalition at today's poll in its final 'election scorecard'.

A scorecard from Master Builders Australia, representing home building employers, gave Labor several ticks for jobs, skills and infrastructure policies.

But the Opposition's promises to reform negative gearing and its rejection of the Coalition plan to reinstate the Australian Building and Construction Commission ultimately earned it two key "X" marks.

The MBA scorecard gave the Coalition ticks on all seven policy measures, including jobs, skills, "economic settings" and small business.

CEO Wilhelm Harnisch said the election would impact "more than a million industry practitioners" and urged more "builder and business-friendly policies".
