WATCH: Dramatic footage of teen arrest on Warrego Hwy

A TEENAGE boy was under the influence of drugs when he tried to flee police and sparked a pursuit on the Warrego Hwy yesterday, police will allege.

The boy, 15, and two other teens, will today appear in court on a raft of charges after a stolen BMW was spotted by police on the highway near the Gatton bypass about 9.50am.

A BMW allegedly stolen from a Sunshine Coast home on Wednesday was spotted on the highway when police attempted to intercept the vehicle with three people inside.

Police will allege a man, 17, was driving at the time and headed west towards Helidon where the car slowed down and the driver attempted to flee on foot.

He was arrested a short time later.

Police will allege the 15-year-old then moved from the front passenger seat and sped away from police.

Officers deployed a tyre stingers at Helidon about 10.10am which slowed the car which police followed.

The BMW then allegedly side-swiped a police vehicle before it stopped on the Warrego Hwy about 10.30am.

Police will allege the BMW was then reversed into police officers at the scene before the boy and woman, 18, were arrested.

Three officers suffered minor injuries and the boy suffered cuts to his arms from shattered glass at the scene from a broken window.

The boy was taken to hospital under police guard for treatment.

Charges were last night filed against the trio who are expected to appear in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.

The Caboolture South boy was charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and two counts each of dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected, fail to stop, obstruct police, enter dwelling with intent and failure to provide a specimen of breath.

The 17-year-old man from Kingston is facing 10 charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing, assault or obstruct police, enter dwelling with intent, and fail to stop.

The 18-year-old woman from Windsor is facing three charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, obstruct police and fail to stop.

The trio spent last night in police custody.
