Body of Pittsworth man found in Gatton
The body of an elderly man from Pittsworth was found at Burgess Park at Lockyer Race Club yesterday.
79-year-old James Buffell left his home on Tuesday morning and travelled to Gatton.
Gatton Police Senior Sergeant Tom Missingham said witnesses had observed a vehicle on an embankment of the Lockyer Creek near the race track on Wednesday and Mr Buffell was seen near the vehicle.
Gatton police were contacted when the vehicle was still there on Thursday morning and police proceeded to conduct a full scale search of the area.
His body was found 300m from the vehicle.
He was on medication for certain illnesses.
Snr Sgt Missingham said there were no suspicious circumstances and investigations are continuing.
