Blogging the Southern Great Barrier reef to the world

THE awe-inspiring beauty of the Southern Great Barrier Reef will be showcased to more than 418,000 people as three high-profile bloggers start discovering the region this weekend.

Tourism Minister Jann Stuckey said on Wednesday the Capricorn, Gladstone and Bundaberg North Burnett regions would host the social media influencers as part of the latest Southern Great Barrier Reef 'Where great begins' campaign.

She said each blogger had been given a tailored individual itinerary to explore the unrivalled hero experiences of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.

"The programs vary from an island getaway through to a family holiday on a budget and an adventurous escape, enabling the bloggers to showcase first-hand the breadth of experiences available in the region to suit a variety of travellers," she said.

"Digital opinion leaders have the potential to influence the decisions of their loyal followers, which makes them important assets in getting the word out about Queensland's destinations and the tourism experiences on offer."

Ms Stuckey said each blogger would no doubt have a fantastic time exploring each region this weekend.
