Big Banana 'hit and run' caught on dashcam

ALLEGEDLY causing an accident and then driving off is bad enough. Being caught doing so on camera is a recipe for trouble.

Coffs Harbour police have used this video to identify the owner of a vehicle that nearly caused some unimaginable damage near the Big Banana.

Footage via Greg from Dash Cam Owners Australia shows a red vehicle travelling south along the Pacific Hwy on Monday afternoon.

It shows a Toyota Landcruiser Utility attempt to change into the left lane where it hit the red car.

While the driver in the left lane pulled over, presumably to exchange details as is normal practice after an accident, the driver of the white Landcruiser races off up the hill and towards Coffs Harbour.

A registration check shows the vehicle does have a paid up Compulsory Third Party insurance policy but the dashcam footage may mean the driver should expect a whole new level of trouble from the long arm of the law.
