Bianca's quest for rodeo royalty
GLENORE Grove's Bianca Mason is preparing to contest for rodeo royalty on the Gold Coast.
The mother of three is one of six entrants in the Rodeo Council of Australia's 2016 Rodeo Queen quest.
Ms Mason is vying for the coveted title against entrants from across the country, with the crowning to be held during a special gala evening at the Mantra Legends Hotel on September 10.
She began her quest for the title late last year and has been busy raising the required funds for the competition ever since. She has attended barrel racing events, held raffles, sausage sizzles and even a poker night at the Lowood Bowls Club to reach her goal.
Ms Mason said she had enjoyed the journey.
"It's been a good experience and has helped me with my self-esteem,” she said.
"I would just like to thank the community and everyone in the area who has been fantastic with support and helped me get to where I am today.”
She said she entered to motivate mothers to chase their dreams.
"Don't be doubtful - just because you've got kids doesn't mean you can't live out your dreams.”
Ms Mason has raised more than $3000 but still needs more funds.
