Best in academics

LAST week Lockyer District High School recognised its sporting achievers and this week it was the chance to reward the students academically.

The hall at the school was full for the 49th annual Academic Awards Night on Wednesday night where the students hard work throughout the year was recognised.

In the major awards Jaclyn Weatherby was named the Dux of Year 8, while Kelsey Mundt was named Dux for Year 12.

Kate Rosier was a popular winner for the Wendy Grofski Memorial Award, while Tegan Steggall was named the Year 11 All-Rounder.

It was a big night for Nicholas Panzram who was not only given an award for being named the Lions Youth of the Year, but he was also the winner of the Supreme Cultural Award and was named the Year 12 All-Rounder.
