BENJAMIN Norris is a quarter of a million dollars richer after winning Big Brother tonight.

The Melbourne accounts manager was crowned the 2012 Big Brother winner after earning 40 per cent of the more than 400,00 votes cast.

"I'm the king of the world," the 32-year-old exclaimed.

His win marks 10 years since Norris first applied for the reality show back in 2002 when it was on Network Ten.

"I've never been humbled by anything like this," he told host Sonia Kruger.

Norris also took the opportunity to propose to his boyfriend, Ben Williams, live on air in front of the studio audience, a stunned Sonia Kruger and the viewing public.

"No one's going to tell us….. that we're not married," he exclaimed.

Gold Coast-based British beautician Layla Subritzky yelled "suck me out of the bottle" as she was the last housemate evicted from the Big Brother House at Dreamworld.

The runner up didn't go home empty handed though, thanks to the car she won during her time in the house and a $10,000 cash prize from sponsor KFC.

The 11 evicted housemates opened the show with a musical number, which included the Big Brother promo song Party Rock and song of the moment Gangnam Style.

Melbourne law student Estelle Landy was the first head on the chopping block, coming in third in the public vote.

The 24-year-old went home with $5000 for her time in the house.
