CRICKET: Jason Behrendorff is hoping to take his chance if handed a start in the first of the T20 internationals against India Sunday (12.30am AEST).
The West Australian left-arm quick has had a nine-month injury-free spell after being hit by a number of problems.
Now he can't wait to earn a first international cap in Ranchi.
"It's one of those frustrating things as a fast bowler, you're never quite sure when something's around the corner like that," he said of the injuries.
"But I'm 100% focused on these games here and making my debut.
"It's something I've worked so hard for so hopefully I'll be able to play at least one of these three matches over the next week or so."
Behrendorff is hoping the T20 series will give him a head start for the Sheffield Shield campaign to come.
"It's a format I really enjoy and I'm looking forward to starting the four-day summer when I get home as well."
