Is Beau Greaves the next Steve Irwin?
BEAU Greaves is at one with wildlife.
Ever since he can remember, the 24-year-old has been obsession with wildlife, dangerous or not.
From catching eels, fish, snakes, mud crabs and bulls with his bare hands, to swimming with crocodiles, dugongs and sharks, Beau has done it all.
"I have to get up close and personal and touch things and spend time with reptiles and animals," Beau said.
"I was raised in the bush near a lake so I was always out catching snakes and other animals when I was growing up.
"It was just normal life for me and I guess over the years I built a passion for it."
Anyone who knows Beau would describe him as 'fearless' and he more than lives up to his reputation.
"I got a job cray diving up in Cooktown and the crocodiles were the next best thing for me," Beau said.
"I just can't keep myself away from them.
"I want to show people what crocodiles are really like; they're not the monsters they're made out to be."
The Morning Bulletin featured Beau in last Saturday's edition and since then, he has gained international exposure.
Just this week, Beau has received over 1500 friend requests on Facebook and a video of him catching mud crabs has had over 1 Million views.
Beau said the next best thing would be to get the licences he needs to work with wildlife so he can start to show the world his talent of connecting with animals.
"My whole life all I have wanted to do is work with wildlife," Beau said.
"My dream is to get the licences and make a film."
