THE Wallabies arrived back in the country yesterday full of optimism, despite their disastrous Spring Tour of Europe.
Australia lost its last three Tests, to France, Ireland and England, with its only win coming against Wales.
Putting on a brave face after touching down at Sydney Airport, Wallabies skipper Michael Hooper told reporters: "I think it was a really productive five weeks."
The trip was the first under the reign of coach Michael Cheika, who replaced Ewen McKenzie on the eve of the tour.
"Losing absolutely sucks, don't get me wrong, but I'm really positive, and the guys are positive," Hooper (pictured) said.
"It's a shame that the good stuff we did off the field and in training wasn't reflected in our results.
"We are heading in the right direction."
