‘You can’t make Australians like a s**t show’
RATINGS have gone from bad to worse for Australian Spartan.
Channel Seven's version of Ninja Warrior copped an absolute battering in the TV ratings last night with just 524,000 people (5 city metro) tuning in.
That's a 35 per cent drop from the show's first episode on February 25 which pulled in 816,000 viewers.
Australian Spartan was up against Channel Nine's Married At First Sight which won the night with 1.53 million viewers tuning in to see Gabrielle unleash on the new villain of the show, Nasser.
Spartan also got trounced by the 7pm news on the ABC which recorded 738,000 viewers and Grand Designs which had 621,000 viewers.
Even Channel Ten's I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! beat Spartan with 580,000 people still persisting with the reality show. (FYI: Paul Burrell was kicked out of the jungle last night.)
Some of those who did tune into Channel Seven's obstacle show vented on Twitter during the program which ran from 7pm to 8.45pm and they weren't very forgiving:
I enjoyed #AustralianSpartan last week but this week's episode is really boring. The fact nobody is getting to the end of the course means we have to watch the first three obstacles over and over and....over.

Australian Spartan is meant to run for another three weeks but it's unclear if Channel Seven will keep airing the show at 7pm on Sundays.
Hey @Channel7 , no matter how much you try to force #AustralianSpartan down our throats with marketing and rescheduling sunday night tv, you can't make Australians like a shit show. We're just not into this. We just want to watch #MKR2018 on sunday night
