Knife-wielding man attempts to rob McDonalds

A MAN wielding a large knife attempted to rob Kingaroy's McDonalds about 9.50pm Monday night.

A staff member fled into the kitchen after the offender demanded cash.

The masked man then fled the restaurant empty handed.

Police responded within minutes, after the man had left the scene.

A police officer on the scene said the man fled without any cash. No one was injured during the incident.

A staff member told the South Burnett Times workers at the restaurant were shaken up over the incident.

The restaurant was temporarily closed while police carried out their investigations and looked over CCTV footage.

UPDATE 8.52am:

Police are seeking public assistance to identify the man described as caucasian and 188 cm tall.
