THE 1994 movie 'Dumb and Dumber' brought the Miss Hawaiian Tropics girls into the international spotlight and now one Gladstone girl is a win away from joining the girls in Hawaii.
The last scene from the movie sees Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne walking down an endless highway when the Hawaiian Tropics bus arrives and what the boys do next is hilarious.
The Grand Oaks Hotel Bartender Ash Anderson still has a long way to go before she ends up on a tour bus but the journey will start with a flight to the Gold Coast on Tuesday.
There she will spend three days taking photos, meeting the general public, extreme jet boating, a meal at Draculas cabaret, a turn on the slingshot and the competition.
In the competition she will be up against 14 other Miss Hawaiian Tropics hopefuls from Australia and New Zealand.
It's something Ash is used to after two years modelling competitions.
"I love the experience, exposure and being able to travel," she said.
"As a small town girl I love socialising and meeting new people that come with the journey."
She said she has been able to meet celebrities through competitions that she would never have had the opportunity to meet before.
"They're all very down to earth people," she said.
But the small town girl hasn't forgotten the local people who help her along the way.
She has been given lot of help from Silver Salon and Sarah Jearez MakeUp.
After the Hawaiian Tropics Competition on June 17, Ash will compete in the Miss Swimsuit Calendar Competition.
In that competition the girls will be photographed and the best 12 will get their own page in the 2018 Miss Swimsuit Calendar.
