A GOODNA man remains in custody after he was charged with the arson of a timber Queenslander in West Ipswich on Friday night.

Scott James, 24, did not appear before an Ipswich magistrate when his matters received a brief mention.

James is charged with arson at Brisbane Street on February 9; enter premises with intent to commit an offence; and assault.

He did not apply for bail and his matters will be mentioned later this week.
