Another boat of asylum seekers intercepted in Aus waters

A BOAT carrying 48 asylum seekers and one crew member was picked up north east of Christmas Island, Border Protection authorities reported on Thursday.

The boat was picked up by HMAS Ballarat on Wednesday morning, with all passengers transferred to Christmas Island for security, health and identity checks.
