Angry mob turns on police as teen party flies out of control

TWO female constables were assaulted and four teenagers charged following an out of control party at Redbank Plains overnight.

Just after 11pm last night, police responded to several calls from the public in relation to the behaviour of people at an event that was being held at a Henty Drive residence. Upon arriving, police issued an 'out of control event' direction.

Around 120 people, most aged in their teens, dispersed out onto the road. 

When police apprehended one person for their behaviour, the crowd became aggressive and began to throw bottles at police. 

Two female officers were assaulted during this time, however sustained no physical injuries.

Over 20 crews from the Ipswich District were called to assist, along with Polair Two.

Four people, aged 14 to 17 years, were transported to the Ipswich watch house and charged with various offences such as public nuisance and assault or obstruct police. 

A further three teenagers were issued with infringement notices for public nuisance.

Investigations are continuing.
