A QUEENSLAND council is on a mission to convince international retailer Amazon that its region would be the perfect place for its first Australian warehouse.

Moreton Bay Regional Council, between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, made the decision to put together a proposal during Wednesday's council meeting.

The move comes after Amazon confirmed it would soon be launching retail services in Australia.
