'All aboard the nappy express!' Clive speaks on fatherhood

CLIVE Palmer's shown off the first photo of his new daughter - and he admits it's not the most flattering photo of his beautiful little girl.

The 59-year-old Coolum resort owner joined Channel 7 breakfast show Sunrise live from the Gold Coast this morning to discuss the latest addition to the family.

His wife Anna gave birth to the healthy baby girl, weighting 3.5kgs, about 2.45pm on Wednesday.

Mr Palmer announced the news via Twitter.

This morning he shared the first photo of his early Christmas present.

"Girls rock" Mr Palmer said this morning on Sunrise during his interview with host Samantha Armytage.

"She's a little angel. I'm very happy God's blessed me at this time. It's all about love," Mr Palmer said.

Mr Palmer said he had a name for his new bub but was reluctant to announce it.

"I haven't got my wife's permission for it yet."

Mr Palmer said he'd have no problem juggling the new baby with his work in Canberra representing the Sunshine Coast based seat of Fairfax as well as his numerous businesses.

"I can take her with me to Canberra some times. I've got my own jet," he boasted.

"It can be the nappy express.... hop on the nappy express to Canberra"

Mr Palmer claimed to be an "experienced nappy changer."

At the end of the interview, Sunrise co-host Andrew O'Keefe asked what Mr Palmer thought on the name Titanica, a play on the billionaire's ambition to rebuild the Titanic.

"I don't know... she's a lot more feminine than that," Mr Palmer replied.
