Truckie in court over fatal crash

A TRUCK driver involved in a fatal crash last year which claimed the life of another man has appeared briefly in Ipswich Magistrates Court.

Acland man Marc William Vietheer, 28, was charged on March 14, 2016 with dangerous operation causing death as a result of the crash on August 18, 2015 during the early hours of the morning.

Mr Vietheer was the driver of an empty cattle truck which allegedly collided with a 4WD on Brisbane Valley Hwy, about 2km south of Harlin.

The driver of the 4WD, a Linville man, 62, died at the scene.

The matter was adjourned until June 22.
