A special visit

THE Governor-General, Quentin Bryce, took time out of her busy schedule to pay a visit to Murphys Creek and Grantham to discuss the situation after the flood disaster.

Ms Bryce landed in a Black Hawk helicopter at the Murphys Creek grounds and talked about flood recovery with locals.

She then visited Murphys Creek State School and witnessed a special song sung by students.

Principal, Jo Sinclair-Jones, said it was a great opportunity and the unexpected visit meant a lot.

“She showed such compassion towards our community and its circumstances,” Miss Jones said.

“She spoke from the heart about how everyone was thinking of us.”
