
Man dies after trying to pass tram
A MAN has been killed as he tried to dash in front of a tram in Melbourne's north this morning.
It is believed the driver was trying to get in front of the tram when he clipped a parked car on Plenty Rd in Preston then hit a power pole and crashed through a brick fence before 12.30 am.

Police say the driver, who was the only person in the car, lost control.
A male pedestrian was also hit with debris and went to hospital with minor injuries.
