A day out at the races

IT is time to dust off your fascinators and suits and hit the track.

The Lockyer Race Club will be hosting their Lockyer Valley Flood Appeal Race Day on Saturday, February 19 for a day of fund-raising for flood victims in the Lockyer Valley.

Mellissa Meldrum of the Lockyer Race Club said it will be a chance for the community to get together and show support for the many families in the region who have been affected by the flood tragedy last month.

She said Lockyer Valley Regional Council and the Lockyer Valley Crime Stoppers have pledged their full support behind the event.

“All proceeds from the day will be donated to the Lockyer Valley Flood Appeal and tickets to the marquee are available at the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre for $49.50 each,” she said.

“There will also be raffles on the day and we would like to thank all of the businesses who have donated.”

All businesses who make a contribution to the race day will be mentioned in our race day advertisement in the Gatton Star on February 16.

To donate call Mellissa on 5462 2850.
