Premier kicks of QLD Week by naming our greatest

A GROUP of top-notch Queenslanders have been named the state's greatest, with Premier Campbell Newman announcing the awards to kick off Queensland Week.

Among the Queensland Greats were Brisbane's former Liberal Lord Mayor Sallyanne Atkinson, Indigenous elder and advocate Fred Conway, art collector Dr Patrick Corrigan, philanthropist Win Schubert and clinical epidemiologist Professor Adèle Green.

The Endeavour Foundation was also honoured as a Queensland great.

Premier Campbell Newman said he was honoured to acknowledge each of them.

Queensland Week runs until Sunday, June 8.
