Coronial inquest in house fire that killed 11 launched
A CORONIAL inquest into the cause of one of Australia's worst house fires got underway on Monday in Brisbane.
The blaze, during the early hours of August 24, 2011, claimed the lives of 11 people who resided at the Slacks Creek home.
Three mothers, four teenagers and four children under the age of 10 died in the fire.
The residents were Tongan and Samoan family members.
It is believed there was no working smoke alarm in the house at the time.
The inquest is expected to last for two weeks.
