70-year-old motorbike rider killed in crash

UPDATE: A man has died in a two vehicle traffic crash which occurred in Cow Bay north of Mossman yesterday.

Initial information suggests at 5.05pm, a motorbike was headed north on Cape Tribulation Road when it has collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction.

The motor bike rider, a 70-year-old local man, died at the scene.

The driver and two passengers of the car were taken to Mossman Hospital as a precaution and have been released.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

EARLIER: Emergency services have rushed to a head-on collision at Cow Bay.

A police media spokeswoman said about 5.05pm yesterday a motorbike and car collided near Cape Tribulation Rd.

The rider of the motorbike was being treated by a doctor on scene as police and paramedics rush to the site.

A forensic crash unit has also been called to attend.
