50 dead in attacks from supposedly beaten Boko Haram
LESS than a week after President Muhammadu Buhari's boast that Nigeria had "technically" won the war against Boko Haram, attacks by the militant group have left more than 50 people dead and 110 wounded.
Several media outlets reported that in the north-eastern Nigerian city of Madagali on Monday, three female suicide bombers detonated explosives - two of them at a market, killing 30 people - and one at a checkpoint, killing one person.
The previous day in the north-eastern city of Maiduguri, Boko Haram fighters and suicide bombers killed 22 people.
In October, President Buhari set his military chiefs a three-month deadline to eliminate Boko Haram by December 31.
