$350 found and handed to police, owner comes forward

THERE are still some honest people among us.

Mackay police have spoken of an incident where $350 had been located in a car park at Caneland Central near the Big W entrance.

"The cash, not a small amount, had been handed in to police at Mackay Police station with a view to locating the rightful owner," a police spokesman said.

And as luck would have it, the lawful owner attended Mackay Police station.

Sufficient enquiries were made to satisfy police that the person attending was in fact the rightful owner and the money was returned.

"There was a huge relief from the owner," he said.

Police would like to thank the finder for acting in such a commendable fashion.

If you found a large amount of money would you:
