25-year-old woman left critically injured in Port Douglas

DETECTIVES investigating an incident in which a 25-year-old woman sustained life threatening injuries on Thursday night at Port Douglas, are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Around 11:30pm on January 1, the woman was located unconscious on the roadway of St Crispins Avenue.

It is believed she was a passenger of a blue Holden Frontera travelling on Port Douglas Road shortly before she was located.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and have spoken to the driver of the Frontera, who is known to the victim.

The 25-year-old Port Douglas woman was airlifted to Townsville Hospital with serious head injuries and remains in a critical condition.

Police urge anyone who was in the vicinity of Port Douglas Road and St Crispins Avenue around 11:30pm on
