Gladstone man Nick Sweeney has died while holidaying in Peru.
The 22-year-old was tragically killed in Peru on Tuesday, June 7.
Over the weekend friends started leaving tributes to Nick over social media remembering him as someone who had an "incredible ability to make people smile".
"You weren't one in a thousand, or one in a million, you truly were one of a kind," a friend wrote.
"You had the most unique view of the world, you saw adventure and happiness in the darkest of situations. Your laugh will echo in my mind for as long as I have left on this earth."
In the funeral notice in The Observer today it reads that he was a dearly loved son of Karen and David. Much loved brother of Gemma, Luke and Brooke. Loved grandson of Patricia and Mick (dec'd) Stratton, Des and Shirley Sweeney.
"Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Nick's life at the Boyne Tannum Memorial Parklands Crematorium Chapel, Pioneer Drive, Boyne Island, Friday 17th June, 2016, commencing 11am."
