THE first race meet of the year kicked off in style over the weekend as many enjoyed the action on and off the track at the Lockyer Valley Race Day.
Among the crowd enjoying all the day had to offer were 40 Princess Alexandra Hospital nurses who swapped the scrubs for frocks and suits.
Crowds had mixed results as they dabbled in picking winners throughout the five race card event, with Buttido galloping across the line to take out the Lockyer Race Club Class 4 handicap 1100m race.
