Get sun smart with Mcdonald's

GEAR GIVEAWAY: McDonald's Gatton gave away more than $10,000 worth of sun smart sport merchandise last week.

McDONALD'S Gatton dug deep to donate more than $10,000 worth of sun smart sport merchandise at a special giveaway to the community last week.

A number of schools, community groups and sporting clubs were included in the giveaway as part of the McDonald's Community Support Scheme.

The sun smart sport merchandise handed out on the day included five 37L water coolers, four marquees and 10 eskies.

McDonalds Gatton licensee Shane Doyle said the program was a great opportunity to help promote active, healthy and sun smart living among the community.

"We are glad to help support the people and groups in the small communities and schools in the region," he said.

The happy recipients of two water coolers from the giveaway were Murray Hughes from Mulgowie Cricket Club and Ann Bichel from the Forest Hill Cricket Club.

"It's great, the clubs really appreciate what they are given," Mr Hughes said.
