Fantasy Tipping is back

THE Star's Fantasy Tipping Competition is back again in 2012.

If you haven't participated in this competition before, the game is simple.

You pick a team from all of the players in the NRL and hope that the players in your team score as many points as possible during the season.

The reader with the most points at the end of the regular season (26 rounds) wins the competition.

Any reader who is wishing to participate in the Star's Fantasy Tipping Competition can enter by circling the players which make up your team from the paper today and bring it into the Star's office at 45 North Street in Gatton.

Otherwise readers can email their teams through to news@gattonstar.com.au.

Readers need to have their teams completed and in by 5pm on February 29.

RULES

A team consists of one player in every position.

Out of the team you have chosen, you need to choose one of your players (excluding the goal kicker) to be a trump player. Any try scored by your trump player will be worth double the points of a regular try.

If you fail to nominate a player or trump player, one will automatically be selected for you.

Points are allocated to your team when one of your players scores a try.

For each try, your player scores four points.

A goal kicker can only earn points from goals kicked. If they score a try no points will be awarded (unless you have also selected this player in another position).

Each goal and penalty is worth two points.

Points will only be awarded for NRL fixtures and not representative matches.

The team with the most points at the end of 26 rounds will be declared the winner.

Readers can only enter one team each.

Once a team has been selected you are allowed to change one player throughout the course of the season. The new player you have selected must be a player in the same position and is only eligible for points obtained after your make the substitution. The player which has been substituted is no longer eligible for further points during the season.
