Energex donates shed

CALL ANSWERED: Energex chairman John Dempsey, Energex Minister Stephen Robertson hand over the keys to the new Lockyer Valley Community Shed to LVRC mayor Steve Jones.

HELIDON has a new community multi-purpose shed after Energex answered the call from the community to donate the $50,000 shed.

The keys to the Lockyer Valley Community Shed in School St, Helidon were handed over by Energy Minister Stephen Robertson and Energex chairman John Dempsey to Lockyer Valley Regional Council (LVRC) mayor Steve Jones the need for a multi-purpose shed was identified after the floods.

"This 16m x 10m shed is more than just a storage facility for post-flood recovery equipment and materials," Mr Robertson said.

"The Energex Lockyer Valley Community Shed, located on School Street in Helidon, can also be used as a hub for the community's future emergency response efforts."

Energex chairman John Dempsey went one step further and said the shed was a symbol of the resilience of the region and its residents to rebuild after such an event.

LVRC mayor Steve Jones welcomed the completion of the shed and thanked Energex for the support of the Lockyer Valley.
