MARK AND DEBBIE Watts with the amazing group of volunteers who helped with the clean up of Laidley Pool.
A GROUP of volunteers cleaned up the Laidley pool on January 23 as part of the Sister Suburb Sunday organised through Rotary.
The volunteers arrived at 8:30 and worked tirelessly for eight hours straight to help finish the massive clean up of the Laidley Pool, which was inundated by over a metre of water.
Lessees Mark and Debbie Watts had spent nine days straight struggling to get the complex cleaned up and were overwhelmed with the help, dedication and pure hard work these complete strangers put in.
The volunteers came from as far away as Jimboomba, Gold Coast and Brisbane and included members of the Biker Group “The Patriots (South Queensland Chapter)”, who volunteered and gave up a social ride to Harvey Bay to venture out to the Lockyer Valley to offer their services.
The volunteers also assisted some of the neighbours in John Street who also suffered damage.
