Buchholz questions decision

MEMBER for Wright, Scott Buchholz has questioned how the newly formed Government can produce stability.

This comes on the back of yesterday's decision from Independents, Rob Oakeshott and Tony Windsor to back Labor.

Mr Buchholz said the weight of the nation rested on the shoulders of the Independents.

“They are responsible for the consequences of their decisions,” he said.

He said the newly formed Government would continue to neglect rural and regional Australia.

“I call on the Labor Government to commit to the construction of the Toowoomba Range Crossing and honour the commitment given by the coalition,” he said

“Labor's history in this area is definitely one of neglect.”

Mr Buchholz said the feeling in the backbench was that the party is much more powerful as a lobby group in the current economic climate.

On the other side of the table the Member for Blair, Shayne Neumann said the result was good for the area.

“This area will benefit from the National Broadband Network and our continued commitment to community infrastructure,” he said.

“The Blacksoil interchange will be fixed and the Ipswich Motorway will get an upgrade.

“The budget is fully costed and fully funded under our government.”

Mr Neumann will attend caucus on Thursday.
