Stags in mid-week playoff

THE Lowood Stags Reserve Grade side has booked a spot into a mid week playoff against Fassifern.

The Stags learnt of the situation during the week that in the four team finals that if two teams were equal on points the fourth and fifth placed sides play off for the final spot.

Knowing this, the Stags were keen to have a well-disciplined game against West End on Saturday night, which they still needed to win.

The Stags lifted and came away with a 60-18 victory.

It was a game that saw the Stags take an early dominant lead before dropping off slightly to let West End back into the match and then accelerating away when their heads switched back on.

Man of the match was Wayne Hayes who also kicked 10 from 10.

With a win last night, they will play this Saturday at North Ipswich Reserve v Swifts at 5.30pm.

The Stags C Grade side's season has come to an end with the side finishing fifth on the ladder, unfortunately missing out on the finals with the new four team system.

The Stags would like to send out a big thank you to Mick MacDonald for coaching the side for the year, it was a job well done and the boys appreciated his efforts.

The club would also like to thank all the boys for playing during the year, and providing them with entertaining footy throughout the year.
