It's Relay time again

ON the weekend of October 2-3, the members of the Gatton RSL sub-branch will participate in the Cancer Council's Relay For Life walk to be held at the Clifford Park Sports Ground in Gatton.

As with other organisations that are raising funds for the Cancer Council's appeal they have been very busy planning and actively raising funds by selling raffle tickets in meat trays in the RSL club.

As well as the club raffles, the team has been selling tickets in an art union, with the major prize being a dinner for two at Weis restaurant, a night's accommodation and breakfast package at the Grammar View motel, located in Toowoomba.

Second and third prizes are a Coles/Myer gift cards to the value of $60 and $30 respectively.

This art union will be drawn on Friday night, October 1 at the Gatton RSL club at 7.30pm and if the winner is present at the draw, then he/she will win a dinner for two at the club.

Here the members, wearing their “corporate colours” at their fortnightly meeting, discuss the progress of their efforts and the planning for the ongoing fund-raising activities.

So when you encounter one of the volunteers wearing a purple shirt with the Cancer Council logo, buy a ticket and help in the fight against cancer.
