The reefs around Peel Island and Mud Island have produced good sized Snapper and Parrot as well as some of the pelagic predators lurking.

In these areas be well aware of the Green Zoned areas and you will be sure of some fun.

The “Houseboat” wreck and the Hole in Wall areas of Peel Island in particular have fished well on the run in tide.

Another reef that has fished pretty well is Harry Atkinson's Reef.

This area has been hot and cold to say the least over the last year or so but fishing appears to be on the improve.

The new wreck, the Tiwi Pearl was added to this artificial reef some time ago is still to make its mark however the sounder indicates fish are coming.

The final resting place for the Tiwi Pearl wreck is S27.24.532 and E153.18.304 so keep an eye out in this area in the future.

Members of the Bottom Dwellers Fishing Club will venture to the Gold Coast the weekend of July 30-31 for their Bream Competition and all indicators point to a cracker of a weekend if the wind stays kind to all.
