LOCALS and visitors alike headed to the annual Laidley Show over the weekend with hundreds of people passing through the gates over the Saturday and Sunday of the event.
Children, especially, enjoyed all the fun and frivolity of the show where they grabbed a wand of fairy floss and headed straight for sideshow alley.
Sunday was a great day for families and children of all ages with plenty of educational treats and animal petting which allowed children to soak in the rural atmosphere of the show.
The show catered to a varied range of interests, from lapidary to goats with one of the largest horse programs of any agricultural show in Australia.
The FMX Kaos freestyle motorbike team entertained with their gravity-defying routines and the Triumph Motorcycle Club put on a show of Harley-Davidsons and choppers.
Competitors came from all districts of Queensland and from as far away as Western Australia to show their animals and automobiles to pleased spectators.
And, for the first time in 70 years pigs were in the limelight at the Laidley Show.
