Ooh, aah! Legend to visit Gatton

ONE of the greatest cricketers to play for Australia will be in Gatton this Saturday.

Former Australian Test cricketer Glenn McGrath will visit Gatton as part of a regional tour of the area.

McGrath has been Elders' Brand Ambassador since 2006 and during that time has visited many rural communities as a special guest of the company.

Regional Sales Manager Mark Witherdin said McGrath will use the visit to Gatton as an opportunity for Elders and McGrath to team up with locals.

“While in Gatton, McGrath and the local Elders team will visit junior cricketers and play golf and have dinner with some Elders clients,” he said.

“The visit will give our clients the chance to meet and spend some time with Glenn who is just as comfortable chatting about farming as he is about cricket, having grown up on a family farm in Narromine, New South Wales.”

Sporting icon Glenn McGrath will spend an hour and 45 minutes with the young players before attending a client Golf Day at the Gatton Golf Course, followed by a dinner with Elders Gatton clients.

Glenn will be at the cricket fields in Cahill Park in Gatton on Saturday morning between 9am and 10.45am.

Following the cricket session he will then take part in a golf day between 11am and 4pm before a dinner that night.

Any junior cricketers of fans of Glenn are encouraged to turn up to Cahill Park to see the famous fast bowler.

Prior to arriving in Gatton, McGrath and Elders will also visit Beaudesert and the New South Wales towns of Casino and Kyogle.

In addition to meeting clients and coaching junior cricketers in those towns McGrath will also visit the Primex Field Day at Casino where Elders will have a strong presence.

“As a major exhibitor and long time supporter of Primex the local team are pleased to be joining with farmers at the field day,” Mr Witherdin said.

“The field day will provide the perfect setting for our clients and team to chat about the current season's conditions and trends as well as what this will mean for them in the future.”
