Road upgrade set to start

SOMERSET Council has placed orders and is waiting for clear weather before commencing a $540,000 upgrade and rehabilitation of Lowood Minden Road.

The project, which is being jointly funded by Somerset Regional Council and the Queensland Government, will see portions of the busy trunk road partially rebuilt and stabilised with lime and fly ash and extra gravel.

The Council advises that there will be unavoidable disruptions to traffic during the major reconstruction project.

Council urge road users to be patient while the road is improved.
