THE Queensland Transport Museum, part of the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre at Lake Apex in Gatton, welcomed its 2000th visitor on Monday, March 8.
Stuart Whitehead, a member of the Toowoomba Probus Club, was the lucky person welcomed as the 2000th visitor.
Mr Whitehead visited the museum with 50 other Toowoomba Probus Club members who also toured the Lockyer Valley region.
The tour began with a visit to the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre and morning tea at the Staging Post Café/Restaurant.
Most of the gents in the group enjoyed a tour of the Queensland Transport Museum while the ladies viewed the fantastic artwork on display in the Lockyer Valley Art Gallery as well as viewing the portraits in the Lockyer Legends Walk of Fame.
After their morning tea in the fabulous surrounds of the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre, the group headed out to Bauers Organic Farm for a farm tour.
After four months of operation, the magnificent facilities and exhibits on show in the Queensland Transport Museum have been embraced by locals and visitors to the Lockyer Valley region.
The Gatton Visitor Information Centre, also a part of the Lockyer Valley Cultural Centre, has seen more than 5000 people visit since opening in November last year.
